Shipping policy
*Due to recent updates in U.S. import regulations, some orders shipped from Europe & Canada to the USA may incur customs duties or import fees upon delivery. These charges are set by local authorities and we have no control over such. These charges must be paid by the customer.
Each piece offered by Masterful Modern is dispatched from one of our European fulfilment partners. Shipping is handled with care, insured in transit, and traceable from dispatch to your door.
The following sets out how, when, and on what terms we deliver.
Shipping Methods and Carriers
Our primary shipping partner is DHL Express. For certain destinations, we may use alternative trusted couriers based on the route and the nature of the piece. Where this is the case, the carrier will be confirmed in your dispatch notification.
All shipments are sent on insured, signature-required services.
Delivery Times
Standard delivery worldwide: 5 to 10 business days from dispatch.
Deliveries to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries may take 10 to 14 business days (due to current regional geopolitical situation and clearance procedures).
Delivery timelines exclude weekends, public holidays in the origin or destination country, and delays beyond our control (see “Delays Beyond Our Control” below).
Order Processing
Orders are dispatched within 24 to 48 hours of payment confirmation, during normal working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00 (GST).
Orders placed during weekends or public holidays will be processed on the next working day.
Shipping Costs
Shipping is complimentary on all orders above USD 500.
For orders below USD 500, shipping is calculated at checkout based on destination, weight, and selected service.
Tracking
You will receive an email with your tracking number as soon as your order is dispatched. The tracking link allows you to follow your piece from our warehouse to your door.
Insurance in Transit
Every shipment is insured against loss, theft, and accidental damage in transit. Coverage extends until the piece is delivered to the address provided at checkout.
Delivery Addresses
We deliver to physical addresses only. We do not ship to PO boxes, military post offices, or any address where signature on delivery is not possible.
Please ensure that the delivery address provided at checkout is complete and accessible. We are not responsible for delays or losses resulting from incorrect or incomplete addresses, or from failure to be available at the time of delivery.
Customs Duties and Import Taxes
For shipments delivered outside the European Union, customs duties and import taxes may be charged by the destination country’s authorities upon delivery. These charges are set by local authorities, vary widely by country and order value, and are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
We do not collect customs duties or import taxes at checkout. We choose, instead, to be transparent: these charges are real, they can amount to several hundred dollars on a luxury item, and we believe you should know this before you buy rather than be surprised at your door.
If a parcel is refused at delivery due to non-payment of customs duties, the order will be returned to our supplier. Reimportation costs, two-way transportation fees, and the 4% payment processing fee will be deducted from any refund, in accordance with our Refund Policy.
Value-Added Tax - European Union Deliveries
Our pieces ship from EU-based supply partners. For shipments to addresses within the European Union, applicable EU Value-Added Tax (VAT) is collected at the point of dispatch by our supply partner, in compliance with EU tax law. The applicable rate depends on the destination country and typically ranges between 17% and 27% of the order value.
Where possible, the applicable VAT will be indicated at checkout. Where it is not, it will be reflected in the carrier’s documentation accompanying your shipment. For destinations outside the European Union, EU VAT does not apply.
Delays Beyond Our Control
While we make every reasonable effort to dispatch and deliver within the timelines stated, delivery may be subject to delays caused by:
• Customs inspection or clearance procedures
• Carrier disruptions, strikes, or operational delays
• Severe weather events
• Regulatory holds in the destination country
• Geopolitical events affecting trade routes or air freight
• Any other event beyond our reasonable control (force majeure)
We are not liable for any loss, damage, or delay arising from such events. Where a delay arises, we will keep you informed and work with the carrier to deliver your piece as soon as conditions permit.
